The Grasp of Socialist International

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 - by Terry Melanson

William Jasper - Feb 16 2010

World government and world socialism. Those are the explicit goals of the Socialist International (SI), one of the planet’s most influential organizations, but one that is virtually unknown to the vast majority of Americans, since it is rarely mentioned in the major U.S. media.

For the last two weeks of December 2009 and throughout all of January 2010 the headline story at the top of the home page of the Socialist International’s website boasted of the organization’s prominent influence and clout at the recently concluded United Nations Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark. However, the brief article, entitled “SI at COP15 in Copenhagen: reaffirming social democratic priorities,” does not begin to do justice to the Socialist International’s central role, not only in pushing the current alarmism over global warming, but also in building a global militant environmental lobby from 1970 to the present.

The SI was most notably represented in Copenhagen by its president, George Papandreou, who is also the current Prime Minister of Greece.

“At this time, we are observing the birth of global governance,” Papandreou said while addressing the UN summit on December 18. “We must, however, agree to an obligation and be committed to carrying this out,” he stressed.

US sovereignty and the Climate Summit

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009 - by Terry Melanson

James Simpson - October 21, 2009

Not content with his humiliation at Copenhagen this past September, President Obama will be traveling again to the Danish capital in December to attend the U.N. COP15 Climate Change Conference. This agreement would commit the United States to punitive and expensive greenhouse gas regulations dictated by the United Nations without recourse.

COP stands for “Conference of the Parties” and the December Copenhagen conference will be the 15th under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), hence COP15. According to their website, it will be one of the largest conferences ever held outside the New York or Geneva headquarters, with an anticipated attendance of over 10,000 people, including governmental representatives from 189 countries, industry groups, and other non-governmental organizations.

Global Warming or Global Freezing: is the ice really melting?

Thursday, October 8th, 2009 - by Terry Melanson

F. William Engdahl - September 24, 2009

President Obama just made a melodramatic appeal at the United Nations for global measures to dramatically curb what he called “the climate threat,” current euphemism for what is more popularly known as Global Warming, the theory that man-made CO2 emissions from cars, coal plants and other man-made sources are causing the earth to warm to the point the polar icecaps are irreversibly melting and threatening to flood a quarter or more of the earth’s surface. There’s only one thing wrong with Mr. Obama’s dramatic scenario: it is scientifically utterly wrong. Since 2007 the polar icecaps have been growing not melting and the earth has been cooling, not warming.

If the fear of death from a fictitious Swine Flu were not enough, the scare stories on world media such as BBC or CNN, showing melting icebergs are dramatic enough to cause one sleepless nights. The Secretary General of the UN, Ban Ki-Moon even made a recent appeal while standing on an Arctic ice-flow, claiming that man-made CO2 emissions were causing “100 billion tons” of polar ice to melt each year, so that in 30 years the Arctic would be “ice-free”. One organization, the WWF, claimed that the Arctic ice was melting so fast that in eighty years sea-levels would rise by 1.2 meters, creating “floods affecting a quarter of the world.” Wow! That’s scary. Goodbye Hamburg, New York, Amsterdam…

Sovereignty stolen

Monday, April 6th, 2009 - by Terry Melanson

Henry Lamb - April 04, 2009

Sovereignty means “supreme, independent authority. …” National sovereignty means “supreme, independent authority in government.” The United States bought its sovereignty with the blood of sovereign individuals who laid down their lives so this nation could be free from the dictates and demands of another nation.

The United States joined the community of nations as a sovereign nation. Over time, however, little by little, this sovereignty has been stolen.

Planning the Steps to World Government

Monday, April 6th, 2009 - by Terry Melanson

Joan Veon - April 3, 2009

In the book of Jeremiah, the prophet tells of the pending invasion of Judah by the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar. He records, “the snorting of horses was heard in Dan.” Can you imagine an invasion of that kind? You have been warned by reports that there is an invading army on the way. As they get closer you can feel the ground move as the multitude of well-trained soldiers and galloping horses get closer to your city. You are strangely aware that your world is going to change forever as you hear the snorting get louder.

That is how I felt fourteen years ago when I read the 1994 United Nations Development Report. I was absolutely shocked to read the Special Contribution entitled “Global Governance for the 21st Century” by the 1969 Nobel Prize for Economics, Jan Tinbergen. He wrote,

Mankind’s problems can no longer be solved by national governments. What is needed is a World Government. This can best be achieved by strengthening the United Nations system. In some cases, this would mean changing the role of UN agencies from advice-giving to implementation. But some of the most important new institutions would be financial—a World Treasury and a World Central Bank. Just as each nation has a system of income redistribution, so there should be a corresponding ‘World Financial Policy’ to be implemented by the World Bank and the World Central Bank. Some of these proposals are, no doubt, far-fetched and beyond the horizon of today’s political possibilities. But the idealist of today often turns out to be the realists of tomorrow.

The Saudis’ dubious interfaith agenda at the UN

Monday, November 17th, 2008 - by Terry Melanson

The country’s lack of religious freedom betrays its lofty rhetoric. The real aim of its ‘dialogue’ is to promote a global blasphemy law.

Donald H. Argue and Leonard A. Leo - November 13, 2008

World leaders gathering at the United Nations this week for a special session of the General Assembly to advance interfaith dialogue should have no illusions that their efforts will miraculously promote mutual respect between religious communities or end abuses of religious freedom.

Saudi King Abdullah, who initiated this week’s special session, is quietly enlisting the leaders’ support for a global law to punish blasphemy – a campaign championed by the 56-member Organization of Islamic Conference that puts the rights of religions ahead of individual liberties.

If the campaign succeeds, states that presume to speak in the name of religion will be able to crush religious freedom not only in their own country, but abroad.

The UN session is designed to endorse a meeting of religious leaders in Spain last summer that was the brainchild of King Abdullah and organized by the Muslim World League. That meeting resulted in a final statement counseling promotion of “respect for religions, their places of worship, and their symbols … therefore preventing the derision of what people consider sacred.”

The lofty-sounding principle is, in fact, a cleverly coded way of granting religious leaders the right to criminalize speech and activities that they deem to insult religion. Instead of promoting harmony, however, this effort will exacerbate divisions and intensify religious repression.

Liberty or Sustainable Development? - Part 8

Rooting Sustainable Development in the USA

Allow me to introduce you to father of American Sustainable Development, George Bush the Elder.

We need to remember that the ideas the United States was founded on and the ideas the United Nations was founded on are antithetical to each other. One recognizes that our rights as human beings are inherent. The other seeks to make our rights the subject and object of political grant.

So how is the United Nations Agenda 21 Sustainable Development being implemented in the United States? First; all federal agencies are openly committed to Sustainable Development policies. The State Department reports our “progress” to the United Nations. Our tax dollars are being used to implement Sustainable development in order to steal our freedom!

In addition, 2,000 NGO’s in the United States are accredited by the United Nations. The purpose of accreditation is to implement Sustainable Development policy. The list of NGOs who implement Sustainable Development policies include…

Liberty or Sustainable Development? - Part 7

Sunday, September 21st, 2008 - by Terry Melanson

Michael Shaw - September 20, 2008

It is important to know that the land use element of Sustainable Development has two action plans:

1. First is the Wildlands Project which seeks to eliminate human presence on over 50% of the American landscape while imposing massive controls on activity on the rest of American land.
2. Second is the Smart Growth action plan. This promotes dense “human settlements”. This leads to increased central controls on how we live and increased restrictions on our mobility.

Old Testament verse explored in Bahai context in “The Half-Inch Prophecy”

From Wikipedia

“The Half-Inch Prophecy” focuses on the following prophecy of the Old Testament: “In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.” (Micah, 7:12)

In William Sears’ version of the King James Bible this prophecy measures exactly one half an inch, but it contains a world of information.
