Vancouver-bound author James Douglass on JFK and the Unspeakable

Georgia Straight: Given the topic and your perspective on it, JFK and the Unspeakable has actually done very well, hasn’t it?

Jim Douglass: Well, it’s a best seller. But that’s not because any print reviews have saturated the field. They’ve been quite light, but there have been some key moments, like when Oliver Stone went on Bill Maher’s show and promoted it. And the fact that Simon & Shuster, to my great astonishment, took it on as a paperback, that gives it a huge distribution even though it’s unreviewed in major print media.

How did Bill Maher react to Stone talking about the book?

He did not want to go there…

Right. Which reminds me that RFK Jr. made some extraordinary comments about the assassination in Dallas recently. But we haven’t been allowed to hear what he said.

That was remarkable, but again, this is Charlie Rose who’s asking the questions, and Charlie Rose, or his network, or Charlie Rose incorporated, whatever it is, they will not release that interview. I know people have been trying to get it to get the exact words, because it’s very, very important. He’s out there saying that his dad didn’t agree with the Warren Report, which isn’t a secret, but this is the first time RFK Jr or a member of the family is saying that. That is big news, except that it’s no news.

Questions by Kennedy Heirs Draw attention to TrineDay Publications

Kennedy heir’s questions draw attention to TrineDay Publications and books by those who have long questioned the lone gunman theory in the JFK assassination

(PRWEB) February 06, 2013

When the son of the late Robert F. Kennedy announced before a live audience recently that his father did not believe in the lone gunman theory regarding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, nor respect the Warren Commission report on the subsequent investigation, renewed consumer interest was directed to a small publishing company based in Oregon called Trineday.

Founded by Kris Millegan, the 50-plus book house specializes in well-researched publications that challenge the mainstream press. Chief among Trineday’s best sellers are books by former FBI agents and other witnesses to the JFK events, who insist that the true story about the assassination has yet to be told.

All of the titles conclude that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone, or in some cases, challenge whether he was the shooter at all.

The latest of these publications is Trineday’s Bond of Secrecy, wherein the son of CIA Spy and Watergate Conspirator E. Howard Hunt details his father’s deathbed confession about the plot to kill JFK.

JFK assassination documents offer surprising lessons about government secrecy — and Obama’s presidency

Russ Baker - May 31 2012

Next year will be a half-century since the death of JFK. And the Obama Administration thinks we need to keep secret the records on the matter … a little longer yet.

Believe it or not, more than 50,000 pages of JFK assassination–related documents are being withheld in full. And an untold number of documents have been partially withheld or released with everything interesting blacked out. But why?

Since the government and the big media keep telling us there was no conspiracy and that it was all Lee Harvey Oswald acting on his own, why continue to keep the wraps on?

We don’t have an answer, but in understanding this and any number of other mysteries, we can begin looking for patterns in the way the administration handles information policy.

Specter’s JFK Specter

Given that Arlen Specter has decided to leave the Republican Party, I think it’s worth examining Specter’s history to see if he will be an asset or a burden for the Democratic Party.

While Specter is perhaps most famous for coming up with the “single bullet theory” which purports that one bullet entered and exited two people (President Kennedy and Governor Connally) seven times, only to emerge nearly intact, his legislative efforts of late also give cause for concern.

I had a personal experience with Specter, in a way. When the Internet was first opened to the public, I found, by pure chance, a newsgroup discussing the Kennedy assassination. I jumped in with no data whatsoever to voice my completely uninformed opinions, and was roundly criticized.

Properly chastised, I decided I should actually learn some facts before I could contribute in any meaningful way. I went to a local library and found a full set of the Warren Commission volumes.
