FDA Approval of Antipsychotics for Children Mirrors Bayer, AMA Approvals of Heroin as Cough Medicine for Children

Mike Adams - June 11, 2009

(NaturalNews) Today an FDA advisory panel approved the prescribing of powerful mind-altering chemicals for children. Seroquel, Zyprexa and Goedon have now been approved by the advisory panel to be prescribed to children as young as 10 years old to treat a fictitious disease invented by psychiatrists and given the name “bipolar disorder.” (There is no such thing as a bipolar disorder disease. It is merely a name assigned to children demonstrating the predictable side effects of correctable dietary imbalances.)

In light of this disturbing decision, it is instructive to remember the history of pharmaceutical medicine and children. One hundred and ten years ago, Bayer marketed heroin to children as a non-addictive alternative to morphine. Did I say “non-addictive?” Yes, it’s right from the company’s own marketing materials. It just goes to show you that drug companies have been lying to the public (and poisoning the children) for well over one hundred years.

Much like the FDA’s present-day endorsement of antipsychotic drugs for children, the American Medical Association endorsed Bayer Heroin for kids, touting its ability to ease coughs. Heroin definitely eases coughs. And so does smoking meth! In offering this endorsement, the AMA apparently borrowed some of the FDA’s screwy logic, which claims “The benefits outweigh the risks.”

FDA Spanked by Full Science Board on Bisphenol A Safety Stance

Thursday, November 6th, 2008 - by Terry Melanson

GAITHERSBURG, Md., Oct. 31 — The FDA erred when it determined that the use of the common chemical bisphenol A is safe, particularly for infants, the agency’s full science board concluded today.

The full board, made up of independent advisers to the FDA, unanimously endorsed a highly critical report by a special board subcommittee on BPA. The subcommittee concluded that the agency employed faulty science when it determined the BPA is safe as currently used. (See: FDA Advisers Denounce Agency’s Decision on BPA Safety)

The chemical is used in packaging of infant formula, and in molded plastic bottles and sippy cups. The current margin of safety is 5 mg/kg, but the subcommittee recommended lowering that level by one order of magnitude.

The full board, chaired by Barbara McNeil, M.D., Ph.D., of Harvard, accepted the subcommittee’s report after inserting language to state that enough evidence exists to support a more conservative margin of safety for BPA exposure among infants.

Are we already dining on clones? No labels on clone food in U.S., FDA says

Canadians may have been consuming food from clones for years without knowing it, despite a Health Canada ban.

That’s one of the surprising revelations from documents on cloning from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency obtained under the access-to-information legislation.

About 800 cloned dairy cattle produced through an early version of cloning called embryonic-cell nuclear transfer and from embryo splitting have been registered in Canada since the 1980s, said a CFIA background paper cloning written in 2006.
