Oliver Stone’s ‘Secret History’ to put Hitler ‘in context’

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 - by Terry Melanson

James Hibberd - Jan 09, 2010

TCA — Director Oliver Stone’s upcoming Showtime documentary miniseries “Secret History of America” promises to put mass murderers such as Stalin and Hitler “in context.”

“Stalin, Hitler, Mao, McCarthy — these people have been vilified pretty thoroughly by history,” Stone told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour in Pasadena.

“Stalin has a complete other story,” Stone said. “Not to paint him as a hero, but to tell a more factual representation. He fought the German war machine more than any single person. We can’t judge people as only ‘bad’ or ‘good.’ Hitler is an easy scapegoat throughout history and its been used cheaply. He’s the product of a series of actions. It’s cause and effect … People in America don’t know the connection between WWI and WWII … I’ve been able to walk in Stalin’s shoes and Hitler’s shoes to understand their point of view. We’re going to educate our minds and liberalize them and broaden them. We want to move beyond opinions … Go into the funding of the Nazi party. How many American corporations were involved, from GM through IBM. Hitler is just a man who could have easily been assassinated.”

Are Presidents Afraid of the CIA?

Friday, January 8th, 2010 - by Terry Melanson

Ray McGovern - December 29, 2009

In the past, I have alluded to Panetta and the Seven Dwarfs. The reference is to CIA Director Leon Panetta and seven of his moral-dwarf predecessors — the ones who sent President Barack Obama a letter on Sept. 18 asking him to “reverse Attorney General Holder’s Aug. 24 decision to re-open the criminal investigation of CIA interrogations.”

Panetta reportedly was also dead set against reopening the investigation — as he was against release of the Justice Department’s “torture memoranda” of 2002, as he has been against releasing pretty much anything at all — the President’s pledges of a new era of openness, notwithstanding. [See Consortiumnews.com’s “CIA Torturers Running Scared.”]

Panetta is even older than I, and hearing is among the first faculties to fail. Perhaps he heard “error” when the President said “era.”

The Power Elite and the Secret Nazi Plan: Part 7

Monday, December 21st, 2009 - by Terry Melanson

Dennis L. Cuddy, Ph.D. (December 14, 2009)

As I have explained before, the Nazis were simply a subpart of a larger Power Elite (PE) plan for world domination. And to find out who funded Hitler, you might read James and Suzanne Pool’s Who Financed Hitler: The Secret Funding of Hitler’s Rise to Power 1919-1933.

Before WWII, John J. McCloy was an attorney for IG Farben (German chemical company), and as the war ended McCloy helped many Nazis avoid prosecution. For example, the infamous Klaus Barbie and others reportedly were sent to the 370th Counter Intelligence Corps at Oberammergau where Private Henry Kissinger (McCloy’s protégé) was located.

In Part 2 of this series, I mentioned Nazi General Reinhard von Gehlen who was Hitler’s chief intelligence officer. With the war’s end, the Gehlen Organization (GO) began working for the U.S., with Allen Dulles’ CIA giving the GO hundreds of millions of dollars. In turn, Gehlen helped Dulles (operating out of Bern, Switzerland) to overthrow the elected Mossadegh government in Iran in 1953.

Gehlen’s chief man and successor in the U.S. was SS officer Otto Albrecht von Bolschawing, who in 1969 worked for TCI which had classified Defense Department contracts. Nazi spy George de Mohrenschildt was also in the U.S. after WWII. He was a member of the “White Russian” (anti-Communist) community and befriended Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassin of President John F. Kennedy. De Mohrenschildt was found shot in 1977 on the day a U.S. House Select Committee on Assassinations investigator was to see him. Attorney Mark Lane in Plausible Denial asserts that de Mohrenschildt was a CIA contract agent.

Dr David Kelly: doctors start legal action for new inquest

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 - by Terry Melanson

Six senior doctors have begun legal action to force a new inquest into the death of Dr David Kelly, the scientist who died days after being exposed as the source of a controversial BBC story on the Iraq war.

Andrew Alderson - 05 Dec 2009

The action is being taken because six doctors are convinced that the original verdict of suicide is unsafe and should be overturned.

Some suspect that Dr Kelly, 59, was murdered shortly after it was revealed that he was the source of a BBC story which alleged that evidence against Iraq had been “sexed up” by the Government in order to justify the 2003 invasion.

The body of Dr Kelly, who was a UN weapons inspector, was found more than six years ago in woods near his Oxfordshire home after he went out for a walk. His wrist had been slashed. He also had painkillers in his bloodstream, although not at a lethal level.

At the time of his death, Dr Kelly was under pressure because it had emerged that he had provided confidential information for the BBC story.

However, in a 13-page dossier prepared as the basis for the legal action, the doctors argue that the bleeding from Dr Kelly’s ulnar artery in his left wrist is “highly unlikely” to have caused his death. They say a number of studies have shown that it is unusual for a patient to die from a single deep cut to the wrist.

The Collins Brothers Unleashed Episode One: Darwinism, Gnosticism, & Sociopolitical Utopianism

Paul and Phillip D. Collins examine sociopolitical Utopianism as a codification of Gnosticism as revolutionary doctrine. In turn, sociopolitical Utopianism’s anthropocentric soteriology finds metaphysical affirmation in Darwinism, which Dr. Wolfgang Smith characterizes as a “Gnostic myth.”

Turkey’s Violent Storms

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 - by Terry Melanson

Eric Margolis - September 14, 2009

Violent rain storms lashed Istanbul, a metropolis of 12 million last week, leaving 31 dead and a huge mess. At the same time, Turkey was experiencing an even more violent and dangerous political tempest.

The name “Ergenekon” may not be familiar to non-Turks, but this murky affaire has riveted Turkey’s 70 million people.

Thirty-three members of a neo-fascist group called Ergenekon have been on trial, accused of murder, terrorism, and trying to overthrow the elected government. The trial was temporarily suspended after the courthouse was flooded out.

The trial has been laying bare the workings of the `deep state,’ a powerful cabal of retired military officers, security forces, gangsters, government officials, judges, and business oligarchs that has long been the real power in this complex nation.

Turkey’s military vigorously denies any links to the Ergenekon.

Uighur Nationalism, Turkey and the CIA

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 - by Terry Melanson

David Livingstone - Fri, 07/31/2009

Much was made in the news, earlier this month, of the series of violent clashes that erupted between Uighurs, a Turkic, and predominantly Muslim, minority ethnic group in China, and the Chinese state police, and Han Chinese residents in the the province of Xinjiang, in northwestern China.

But the media’s recent attention to the matter should be seen in light of a larger geo-political strategy, involving Turkey and the CIA, in ongoing furtherance of The Bernard Lewis Plan. Originally implemented under the supervision of Zbigniew Brzezinski during the Carter administration, the plan was based on Lewis’ idea of an “Arc of Crisis”, created around the southern borders of Soviet Union, by empowering Muslim radicals to rebel against the communists, to bring about the fall of the Soviet Empire. The key aspect of this strategy, over the last 30 years, as revealed in the book and movie, Charlie Wilson’s War, began with support for the Mujahideen in Afghanistan, which became the CIA’s largest covert operation ever.

As outlined in Brzezinski’s Grand Chessboard, control over central Asia, which in addition to Afghanistan, comprises the five former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, is a key factor in mastery of all of Eurasia, and thereby, the world.

Blackwater Founder Implicated in Murder

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 - by Terry Melanson

JEREMY SCAHILL - August 4, 2009

A former Blackwater employee and an ex-US Marine who has worked as a security operative for the company have made a series of explosive allegations in sworn statements filed on August 3 in federal court in Virginia. The two men claim that the company’s owner, Erik Prince, may have murdered or facilitated the murder of individuals who were cooperating with federal authorities investigating the company. The former employee also alleges that Prince “views himself as a Christian crusader tasked with eliminating Muslims and the Islamic faith from the globe,” and that Prince’s companies “encouraged and rewarded the destruction of Iraqi life.”

In their testimony, both men also allege that Blackwater was smuggling weapons into Iraq. One of the men alleges that Prince turned a profit by transporting “illegal” or “unlawful” weapons into the country on Prince’s private planes. They also charge that Prince and other Blackwater executives destroyed incriminating videos, emails and other documents and have intentionally deceived the US State Department and other federal agencies. The identities of the two individuals were sealed out of concerns for their safety.

Bombshell: Bin Laden worked for US till 9/11

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 - by Terry Melanson

lukery - July 31, 2009

Former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds dropped a bombshell on the Mike Malloy radio show, guest-hosted by Brad Friedman (audio, partial transcript).

In the interview, Sibel says that the US maintained ‘intimate relations’ with Bin Laden, and the Taliban, “all the way until that day of September 11.”

These ‘intimate relations’ included using Bin Laden for ‘operations’ in Central Asia, including Xinjiang, China. These ‘operations’ involved using al Qaeda and the Taliban in the same manner “as we did during the Afghan and Soviet conflict,” that is, fighting ‘enemies’ via proxies.

As Sibel has previously described, and as she reiterates in this latest interview, this process involved using Turkey (with assistance from ‘actors from Pakistan, and Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia’) as a proxy, which in turn used Bin Laden and the Taliban and others as a proxy terrorist army.

Deep Events and the CIA’s Global Drug Connection

Monday, September 22nd, 2008 - by Terry Melanson

Peter Dale Scott - September 19, 2008

Introduction

Recently I published two articles pointing to suggestive similarities between the recurring deep events in recent American history – those events which, because of their intelligence aspects, are ignored, misrepresented, or covered up in the American media. The first article pointed to overall similarities in many deep events since World War II. The second pointed to surprising points of comparison in the two deep events which were followed shortly by major U.S. wars: the John F. Kennedy assassination and 9/11. In the background of all these events, I suggested, was recurring evidence of the milieu “combining intelligence officials with elements from the drug-trafficking underworld.”

In this essay I shall first attempt to lay out the complex geography or network of that milieu, which I call the global drug connection, and its connections to what has been called an “alternative” or “shadow” CIA. I shall then show how this network, of banks, financial agents of influence, and the alternative CIA, contributed to the infrastructure of the Kennedy assassination and a series of other, superficially unrelated, major deep events.

In this narrative, the names of individuals, their institutions, and their connections are relatively unimportant. What matters is to see that such a milieu existed; that it was on-going, well-connected, and protected; and that, with increasing independence from governmental restraint, it played a role in major deep events in the last half century.

This of course strengthens the important hypothesis to be investigated, that this on-going milieu may also have contributed to the disaster of 9/11.
