Zecharia Sitchin: Why You Can Safely Ignore Him

Although the name Erich von Däniken may be more familiar, Zecharia Sitchin is arguably the most important proponent of the ancient astronaut hypothesis over the last several decades. One cannot go into a Barnes & Noble and not find his books prominently displayed in the New Age section. Why? Because both Sitchin and his readers have cast him as something von Däniken is not: a scholar of ancient languages and texts. Sitchin’s name therefore carries academic authority in defense of the idea that extraterrestrials visited earth millennia ago, spawning the human race through genetic manipulation and fostering civilization’s major advancements, including Judaism and Christianity. That may sound silly, but tens of millions of readers take it seriously. But should they?
One of the advantages Sitchin has had over his career is the fact that few people could question his “translations” of ancient Sumerian tablets or the Hebrew Bible, or some obscure Aramaic text. He had readers over an academic barrel, not because his work was academically sound, but because these fields are so arcane. Realistically, how many people do this sort of work?

Dr.Immanuel Velikovsky was hounded by the learned establishment because he challenged “the right of their fossilized brains to rest in peace”. I have read Sitchin’s books as well as a host of other writers like him.I HAVE AND AM STILL doing my own research and I find that these writers have some solid points which the traditional establishment can never accept.

Sitchin is no Velikovsky. In certain fields, you are either qualified or you’re not. Sitchin is a con-artist with fabricated credentials, and his interpretations of ancient Sumerian texts are a fraud.

The “establishment” knew of Sitchin’s quackery all along, but in their hubris they deemed him not even worthy to be addressed. Heiser is to be commended, then; for he is sincere, has the right training to even address Sitchin’s errors, and was not dissuaded by the political correct thought police to even tackle such a fringe subject.

Are there any sites that have a list of where scientists, archeologists and so on actually agree with Sitchin?
He has many answers that ARE found in science.
He admits taking liberties in most of his books, and does not admit exact translations.
We have had thousands of years of biblical scholars who still have a text that does not make very good sense…even the experts admit it. Wh yexcept those with something to gain in religion and science, but not ANY of Sitchin’s work?
We have religious wars and fanatics world wide, and here a man trying to put these ideas together is being condemned for his work.
At least point out where he is correct along with the arguments of his errors!
religion has an agenda as well…do not forget that!

Sitchin a fraud !!! … a fraud i dare to say is all crhistianity , islam and other deceivers like this … they are not just frauds they are assasins murderors terrorists , holly war !!! killing in the name of god !!! i rather to belive in a Sitchin lie them to belive in all religions true , and the reason why its coz theres none … how can people be so intelligent for some things and sooo damm ignorant for others … religion = ignorance … why do you belive in god ? i ask ! , answer … > be coz god is god … lol WOW … how can one worshiep a deity they dont know nothing about … at lest I know … if not everything at least , a lot …
