King Albert II of Belgium receives the Gold Medal of the Supreme Council for Romania

The Romanian Masonic News Agency announced that the King of Belgium, His Majesty Albert II celebrated 50 years of marriage. At a great event in the Atheneum Palace of the Romanian capital, Or.: Bucharest, last night, July 8, 2009, was organized a ceremony in which the Romanian high society brought tribute to the Belgium Kings.
At this event participated the Romania President, Traian Basescu and his wife, Maria Basescu, high ranking officials and members of the Romanian Freemasonic Order, in which we mention the Sovereign Grand Commander of Romania, Brethren Andre Pierre Szakvary 33, and Grand Master of the Femenine Grand Lodge of Romania, Sister Anca Nicoescu 33.

Is this really so? Wouldn’t you expect the King of the Belgians to receive such a medal, if one exists, either from his own country or the Pope? What connection is there between Roumania and Belgium?

“Supreme Council” of Belgium is an allusion to the Supreme Council of Scottish Rite Freemasonry, not some aristocratic/nobility award. He received a Freemasonic medal.
