Conspiracy Theorists Were Right All Along!

As I opened up an e-copy of the Washington Times today, the headline read: “Federal agency warns of radicals on right.” Many have talked about this and Karen DeCoster in today’s LRC blog here mentioned this report. Fox News, Drudge and many other “conservative” commentators are up in arms claiming that this is a direct attack against conservatives. I beg to differ. It is an attack against Americans!
The Department of Homeland Security is warning “law enforcement officials” (jackbooted criminal types) about a rise in “rightwing extremist activity,” but a footnote in this report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines rightwing extremism as “including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that (don’t miss this part) reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.” If I’m interpreting this correctly, this report is going after anyone who dares to question federal authority. This would put libertarians directly in the government’s crosshairs. In fact, I have been against federal authority my entire life, so am I a prime target? In addition, this report was sent to police and sheriff’s departments all over the country. This is after thousands of combat troops have taken up permanent residence as domestic police, with thousands more on the way. This sounds like nothing more than a recipe for tyranny.

Suspicious that Glenn Beck and his crony, Judge Napolitano are now touting a quasi-libertarian stance, Fox News sounds like Alex Jones—and Alex Jones cozies up to Napolitano — all worried about the leftist Obama front when for eight years they coddled “W” who wa the gateway drug for globalism.
It was never about “conspiracy theorists”, it was about people who saw the great American nightmare. The horse is out ofthe barn and these idiots are walking behind cleaning up the manure! where the hell was Barnett in the midst of all this? Barnett is a shill for the economic libertarians of the Von Mises school—theorists who simply provide the counterpoint for the Chicago School of Economics—pure Hegellian dialectic and gaseous emissions with no substance.

Even though I’m no more a Fan of the right wing elite than I am of their leftist counterparts, I think the new Obama government’s co-equating all so called right wing groups is dangerous in terms of civil liberties. Legal protesters of Federal power and Pro-Life and Second Amendment Activists are not worthy of the same invasive state scrutiny as Neo-Nazi’s, Cults and Radical Militias. The powers that be in the political right might exploit and exaggerate this news in an attempt to consolidate power over the base, but it isn’t a complete fabrication. This could be a dangerous president. What Bush set in motion, Obama might expand on.
