I’m not even going to grace the CIA thing with a response, but I will go ahead & say that I grew up in an Assembly of God Church & the place is rediculous. There is no problem with the people in general, that I could tell, but the church seemingly allowed everyone to believe pretty much anything they wanted that wasn’t directly addressed in the bible. Some people thought Harry Potter was evil & wouldn’t let their kids see it. Others had no problem with it, and so on & so forth. The “speaking in tongues” was an obvious act & I was always confused, even at the age of four, how other people could possibly translate a person who has just “spontaneously” begun speaking a non-existant language…

Because of the general confusion & bizarre combination of both strict & loose doctrine, several children, myself included, have grown up socially inept, terrified of judgement & extremely self-loathing, although I noticed that this only seemed to strike kids with creative minds, whatever the connection may be there. The three of us I know of are a writer, a guitarist/ songwriter & an artist.

And I just have to say, King James the whichever number wrote that blasted book again was looking for a loophole so he could get devorced from his wife & remarry- this was the reason for his writing of the book. Frankly, no bible is the “word of god” it’s been tempered with, rewritten, added to, taken from & generally pasted together by confused people who were either unsure of exactly what they were dlvoing, or wanted something the previous incarnation could not give them. If ever there WAS a legitamate word of your God, it no longer exists.

ralph b. is correct about the KJV1611 as the proper Bible that fits exactly “word by word” matching and definitively exact with the original manuscripts called the “textus receptus” which is where king james by God’s grace and moving, translated the perfect condcordantly matching version of the old testament (hebrew) and new testament (greek) bible.
the kjv (not the new kjv which i will explain later) is the only bible if you are scholarly serious about having the orginal God breathed bible in english, that meets the as I repeat again with my use of a strong concordance-which you should use to learn the depthness of what each word written in the kjv bible means in emphasis and definition in hebrew and greek, that fits in number and word that matches rightly correct proving that the kjv is from the the biblical textus receptus. NOW, the bible versions that came out today are revamped and somewhat “ILLUMINATED” by “ghost catching/mysticists/devil worshipping” men known as westcott and hort who are big players in the new age movement. Westcott and Hort did not match the new concordate bibles through the textus receptus…but used the corrupted version alexander the great referencedly noted by alexander’s reading of the textus receptus. alexander himself thought that his intelligence and version of the bible is better than the textus manuscript he read. The manuscript westscott and hort with the NIV, NKJV, RSV, ESV, Good News, etc…and the roman catholic latin vulgate(catholic or vatican bible along with their “holy church laws” and power), made their versions through alexander’s scripts. keep in mind alexander’s script have his own “edits” for what he wants in his own “version” from his made together bible. also, the roman catholic through constantine wanted alexander’s script instead of the textus receptus kept in antioch due to the churches interests more on alexander’s works promoted by alexandrian scholars in alexandria, egypt. anyways, with the catholic hating how king james didn’t want to submit to the vatican for power, and king james wanting to make the God breathed bible in english from the word for word textus receptus, when king james had scholars and scribes to begin the creation of the kjv 1611, he made sure there were guards that watched and strictly made sure the words being translated for king james were the exact word for word textus receptus. why? because the roman catholic wanted to ruin king jame’s plan for the translation, and so pope constantine hired undercover jesuits to work there way up to take royal positions in order to ruin translation works for the kjv; but of course with the guards knowing and watching scribes doing what they are suppose to do, jesuits failed and TA DA….the KJV defends it self. I mean first of all, in the book of john the NIV made Jesus a liar as His disciples asked if He was attending the passover meal, NIV writes that Jesus was NOT attending but shows when the disciples get to the passover meal. the KJV writes that Jesus says that he is not “yet” coming, but will be there later. BIIIG difference. And a Christian in a radio show was decieved by the NIV claiming that its okay to lie since the NIV he reads portrayed Jesus to lie. Ignorant, luke warm, i am so sorry to say this, but Christians not being serious about the WORD TTHHEE WOOORRRD? Dear Issie, The King James 1611 is the ONLY Bible to read. As paul wrote…The Word will be put into one common language. It took over 20 years for Godly people in prayer and study of Scriptures to decipher the sacred scrolls, and to bring the Word of God to truth. This is the only Bible that is not copy written, and nothing has been added or subracted, as there is a curse on those who pervert the Bible with additions or removal of words, as Jesus Christ is the Word, the Truth, and the Light.

I have to agree about the AOG being a very frightening church. I was a member (forced by my parents) from the age of 5 years old to attend in Rhodeisa (now zimbabwe). I used to feel terrified every time I went into the church, it was always cold and had an evil eerie presence. Something which still haunts me to this day is the fact that the members of the church, on a Saturday night when it was ‘communion’ would start talking in ‘tongues’ - now I agree with everything the Bible says and that no more than two or three should be speaking in tongues at one time. Well, imagine a congregation of about 150 or so - maybe three quarters of them start to chant and talk in ‘tongues’ - it was like the whole church was filled with demons from hell and I do not believe that they were entering anything to do with God during those times, I believe they were communicating with the devil himself! I also saw fake healings and had to go to summer camps etc. which I despised - it was so structured and military like, very odd!
To cut a long story short (and there is a lot more I could tell about the AOG) - I have suffered from terrible bouts of depression since I was about 14 years old and still do, I trust no-one and am a single parent with three kids, live a very quiet life, never go out unless I have to and will certainly never join a church again. I do believe completely in God and Jesus Christ and I pray. I no longer have a Bible as I reckon most of them have been tampered with so I just trust in God and not people. I hope this will help anyone who is having doubts about that awful church! God bless you all.

I wonder if there is any connection between the elements in this story and the following: “Dominionists”; “Joel’s Army”; “Reconstructionists?” They all sure sound as if they are on the same wave length as the Spooks in the CIA. I need also to do more study on the Third Reich and those German churches licensed by the Nazi state. Oh, before I forget: throw in the story of the government attempting to enlist pastors around the nation into smoothing their congregations and communities into accepting martial law quietly.

The above story was an excellent article, Terry. I would like to see more on this topic as I am an Evangelical and also years ago a member of the Assemblies of God. Frightening when you can’t even feel safe in church anymore.
