		<description>Whereas mainstream commentators are insisting that the US is now turning its back on its Brzezinski "arc of crisis" or destabilization of S W Asia strategy-astute bloggers like Anti-Fascist in this piece fear  that the old strategy persists and is the US means to threaten both China and Russia by securing a buffer zone between them.

Thus in US geopolitical planning a US occupied Af-Pak zone would hamstring China and Russia's efforts to forge a power and trading bloc.

Whatever the truth the risks of nuclear confrontation are clear especially if Israel opts to go for broke and attack Iran.
