This is something I’ve been thinking about for a while now in light of both your own article on Michael Richards and the Collins Brother’s investigations into manufactured racial conflict. Notice that starting with Richard’s tirade the media began to be saturated with stories concerning black/white racial conflict. There was Don Imus’ bigoted comments and the whole circus surrounding that, Dog the Bounty Hunter’s recorded phone conversation, several stories about nooses being hung from trees, a recording of Charlie Sheen calling his (white) ex Denise Richards the “N word” (something she had waited several years to release to the press), all this preceding Obama’s bid for election that was itself made into a racial issue, especially with Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Even though the Hegelian Dialectic has become a somewhat overused and over simplified formula in the field of conspiracy research, one familiar with the concept cannot but help, at least entertain, the idea that Hegelian Activism was at work in the new president’s ascendancy. What better synthesis could there be to an artificial conflict of black and white thesis/antithesis than a candidate who is himself a “synthesis” of both races. The Veltgeist or Zeitgeist or whatever, certainly picked a real winner. Between individual people and by extension, between groups of people, there must exist an intermediary connection through which all persons identify each other as sharing a common value and dignity. In Christianity this connection is solidified by the concept that all Mankind share biological ancestry in Adam and Eve, who themselves are further sanctified by virtue of being made in the image of God. Thus Christ, who is both God and the New Adam, who’s image all humans share, is the bond that makes all people (even those who reject him) brothers and sisters and elevates them above the absolute isolation of the self, without melting them into the soulless mass of the collective. Atheistic and materialistic Communism, however, disbelieving in a ground transcendent of the physical universe, cannot conceive of an interpersonal connection that exists outside of the visible world. As such people must derive brotherhood and sisterhood through the immanent medium of the absolute state and their absolute submission to such . Similarly Radical Nationalism (aka racism) makes shared racial background the lynchpin between people. For Racist, those who fall outside a certain racial group, fall outside the definition of human. Both these modes of thinking degrade and debase human beings both as a genre and as individuals. Yes!
